NON-STRUCTURAL MEMBERS

Non-structural members are those parts of a building that aren't part of the major or secondary structural systems. Non-structural members include things like light non-load-bearing walls, mechanical equipment, cable trays, ductwork, suspended ceilings, pipes, and cladding systems like brick veneer.

non- structural members: Main doorDoor- The door is a hinged or otherwise movable barrier that allows entry and exit of the enclosure. The opening created in the wall is the doorway or portal. The basic and main purpose is to provide security by controlling access to the doorway.

Non structural members: Door JambDoor JambThe door jamb is the vertical part of the frame that fixes the door. The door frame bears weight of the door through its hinges, and most types of door latches and bolts extend into the groove of the door frame when they engaged, making the “authenticity” and strength of the door jambs vitally important to the overall operational durability and security of the door.

Non structural member: Window jamb

Window Jamb – A window jamb is a structural component of a window. Located along the top and sides of the window’s structure, jambs can include tracks or rails used to control the window, as well as mechanisms such as latches that are used to secure the window when it is closed in the case of windows that open. Jambs are similar structural supports surrounding a door, and any sort of vertical support around an aperture is referred to as a “jamb” in general.

Non structural member: PipingPiping– A piping is a preconfigured pipe connection and consists of the pipe (bent if applicable) and the connected fittings and valves.

non-bearing wallNon-load bearing walls – Its a placed inside the house and does not support any structural weight of the building. Except for their own house structure, they do not bear any additional house structure weight. These walls are mainly used as room dividers and mostly for no other purpose.
